Creating a genuine leather-covered mannequin requires technical expertise, an in-depth knowledge of materials and one essential element of our work: craftsmanship.
The entire process takes place in-house at La Rosa in Italy, and begins long before the leather is applied to the mannequin.

It starts with the selection of the material. Genuine leather is a natural material, with its own characteristics, textures and nuances. It is selected, cut and prepared according to the shapes it will eventually cover.
From this point on, much of the work is done by hand.
The leather has to follow the volumes of the mannequin, adapt to its curves and fit the structure while maintaining continuity between the different sections. Cutting, tensioning, joining and finishing all require precision and, above all, experience. Every step contributes to the quality of the final result.

It is not simply a matter of covering a surface.
The process must respect both the shape of the mannequin and the characteristics of the material, preserving the texture and tactile quality that belong to genuine leather.
It is also a process that reflects our approach to customisation.
A specific request from a client may lead us to explore different materials, finishes or solutions. Our role is to find the best way to turn that idea into a tangible product, combining design, production capabilities and the specialised craftsmanship we have developed over the years.

Technology and industrial processes are part of our production, but some techniques still rely on human experience and the ability to work skilfully by hand.
The result is a mannequin created for a specific project, with the authentic character of genuine leather and a surface that retains its distinctive tactile identity.

For us, Made in Italy also means this: being able to manage every stage in-house and bring together different skills to give shape, each time, to what our client has imagined.
